Scrum Master Manager

Commercial Technology is hiring an Agile Scrum Master Manager to support two agile teams within the fast-paced and growing Commercial Salesforce team. In this role, you will be working closely with the Product Owner and coaching developers and testers to help them maximize their potential. You will play a critical role in continuous improvement, maximizing performance and removing barriers that slow the team down.

You will

  • Communicate and facilitate effectively across diverse audiences within and outside of the Sprint Team (Stakeholders, Executives)

  • Be able to remove obstacles for the team or direct obstacles to appropriate owners for resolution quickly

  • Be knowledgeable about the software development lifecycle

  • Provide perspective to the team and keeps team focused on critical deliverables and tasks.

  • Be comfortable working with a wide range of roles and levels (business, compliance, Legal, IT, etc)

  • Motivate and model open communication to help surface issues for faster resolution

  • Influence across wide range of stakeholders

Service to the Product Owner

  • Finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management

  • Creates forum for communicating vision, goals, and Product Backlog items to the Team

  • Teaching the Team to create clear and concise Backlog items

  • Understanding long-term product planning

  • Understanding and practicing agility

  • Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed

Service to the Team

  • Be a comprehensive Servant Leader to the team

  • Coaching the Team in self-organization and cross-functionality

  • Teaching and leading the Team to create high-value products

  • Removing impediments to the Team’s progress

  • Facilitating Scrum events as requested or needed

  • Coaching the Team in organizational environments in which Scrum is not yet fully adopted and understood

Service to the Organization

  • Leading and coaching the organization in its Scrum adoption

  • Planning Scrum implementations within the organization

  • Helping employees and stakeholders understand and enact Scrum and empirical product development

  • Causing change to increase the productivity of the Team

  • Compliance with Capital One policies for project delivery

  • Working with other Scrum Masters to increase the effectiveness of the application of Scrum in the organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience

  • At least 3 years of agile delivery experience

  • At least 2 years of experience using an Agile management/tracking tool like Version1 or Jira

Preferred Qualifications

  • CSM, PMP, Lean or Six Sigma certification

  • 5 or more years of agile delivery experience

  • Excellent communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting with key stakeholders at all levels across the company to manage, inform and influence outcomes

  • Outstanding influencing skills to effectively drive process implementation, standardization and simplification

  • Strong drive to complete when faced with ambiguity

  • A proven track record of excellent project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage work in a dynamic complex environment

  • Display a passion for coaching and developing a team of associates through their leadership style
