Navigant’s Valuation Disputes practice focuses on assisting corporations and their counsel in addressing issues associated with valuation disputes, complex commercial litigation, forensic accounting investigations, insolvency, and other matters involving accounting, finance and valuation skills. Our professionals are retained to provide business advisory, privileged consulting, and expert testimony services. Team members have academic credentials in valuation, accounting, finance or economics, and hold accounting, forensic accounting and valuation certifications (e.g., CPA, ASA, ABV, CIRA, etc.).
Seeking experienced valuations expert from Big 4 or National/Regional Accounting Firm to join Navigant’s Chicago Disputes and Investigations practice. The Disputes and Investigations practices across the globe in high stakes litigation, providing expert forensic accounting and valuation skills.
The ideal candidate’s responsibilities will include: performing complex accounting research and analysis of US GAAP and IFRS standards, as well as applying valuation, financial reporting, and financial and forensic accounting skills, in complex litigation.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, economics or related disciplines
7+ years' experience from Big 4 or other national or regional accounting firm
Valuation credentials (ABV, ASA and/or CFA) required
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
Interested in obtaining and applying deep knowledge in financial reporting issues governed by US GAAP or IFRS in regulatory investigations and civil litigation
Collaborative team player
Willingness to work in dynamic analytical environment
Interested in fair value accounting and damages related to all aspects of financial reporting
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to support multiple projects and meet deadlines
Strong project management skills
Communicate frequently with co-workers as well as with managers to discern their needs, and be able to express themselves
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Ability to direct and motivate members of your project teams
Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally
Generally works in an office environment
